Novo, Associate Professor of Strategic Studiesat the National Defense University, Washington, DC. It will be held on October 13 at 17.30 at Kyiv School of Economics.

Andrew R. Novo. D.Phil is Associate Professor of Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, Washington, DC. Dr. Novo teaches grand strategy, political philosophy, and international politics to students from various departments of the United States Government and more than 50 partner nations worldwide. Prior his position at NDU, he worked as a research associate at the Harvard Business School.
Dr. Novo has published academic articles in peer-reviewed journals and opinion-editorials in various media outlets from The National Interest to the Harvard International Review. He is also the author of Queen of Cities (2010), a historical novel on the fall of Constantinople, which has been translated into Greek (2015) and Turkish (2014). His second book, When Small Countries Crash detailing financial crises in small economies, was published in 2011.
His research and speaking interests include: grand strategy, American foreign policy, NATO, and Mediterranean history and politics. Since 2015, he has been part of the State Department’s US Speakers Program.
He studied classics at Princeton University before getting a master’s degree in international relations and a doctorate in modern history from St. Antony’s College, the University of Oxford. An expert in ancient and modern Mediterranean history, strategic studies, and international relations. He has presented his academic work at international conferences in Italy, Cyprus, and the United States. He has lectured at the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the National Arts Club in New York. He maintains an active speaking schedule in Washington, DC presenting at various think tanks on critical current international issues.
He speaks French and Modern Greek and is conversant in Italian.
