The Board of Directors and the International Academic Board gathered at KSE for the annual meeting

On 30-31 October 2015 the Board of Directors (KSE Board) and the International Academic Board (IAB) gathered at KSE for the annual meeting.  KSE, as a world-class institution, for 19 years has been governed by the KSE Board, which oversees its overall activities, while the academic quality of KSE MA Programs is overseen by IAB.

The KSE Board includes several senior representatives of international donor organizations, leading academics, senior executives of international and Ukrainian companies, and IAB is composed of prominent international academics.  The KSE Board and IAB spent two days meeting with KSE students, faculty and staff, discussion successes and challenges facing KSE in the current difficult environment, and working on the new plan for KSE development.

For many years the KSE Board was Chaired by Regina Yan, former senior executive at the Eurasia Foundation, Chief Operating Officer of the Peterson Institute for International Economics and currently COO of Patient-centered Outcomes Research Institute.  We are immensely grateful for Regina’s dedicated service and to her most important contributions to KSE!  Regina graciously agreed to serve, along with another former KSE Board Chair, Anders Aslund, as a Senior Advisor to the KSE Board.

The Board elected a new Chair, Dr. Irina Paliashvili, Managing Partner of a Washington and Kyiv based law firm RULG – Ukrainian Legal Group, P.A., who has served as a KSE Board member for many years.  Two new members have joined the KSE Board: Yuriy Gorodnichenko, associate professor at the Department of Economics, University of California, Berkeley, and a research associate in the NBER, who is also a KSE alumnus and co-founder of VoxUkraine, as well as a member of the IAB, and Peter Chernyshov, the President of Kyivstar.  Tymofiy Mylovanov, associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh, who is also a KSE alumnus and co-founder of VoxUkraine, has joined the International Academic Board.

The KSE Board expressed full confidence in the new highly capable and competent KSE Management Team, led by Ivanna Kurtyk (Vice President for Finance and Administration), which includes Tom Coupe (KSE Associate Professor), Yuliya Tychkivska (Vice President for Management Education) and Olesia Verchenko (Academic Director) – who all took active participation in the Board meetings.

The KSE Board and IAB are fully committed to supporting the three pillars of KSE: Economics Education, Management Education and Policy Advice and Research.
