On May 21-22 the 40th EERC workshop will be conducted. This event is held twice a year since 1996 and aims to strengthen economics education and research capabilities in the CIS.
For the 40th anniversary seminar well-known economists will gather in Kyiv to present their researches and discuss economic issues in Ukraine and their countries. Tymofyi Mylovanov (KSE President, Associate Professor at University of Pittsburgh), James Leitzel (University of Chicago), Andrey Sirchenko (Higher School of Economics), Russell Pitman (US Department of Justice), Diana Weinhold (London School of Economics) are among the participants.
What is EERC. The Economics Education and Research Consortium was created in 1995 and supports original policy-relevant studies, organizes training seminars and research workshops, links academics and policymakers, and invests in the virtual research infrastructure – access to scholarly literature, data and peers. EERC delivers funding for original policy-relevant research through a cycle of semi-annual grant competitions and ad hoc research tenders on specific topics.
During its 20 year history EERС conducted 40 workshops, more than 1300 research teams participated in the workshops, more than 420 research projects received funding.
“The EERC is all my life that still keeps me in Ukraine: support of 2 research projects (research grant in 2002-2004 and 2009-2011) opened access to new research opportunities and cooperation with international organizations, foreign universities and research centers; inspires me to keep teaching (with futher improvement of the quality) and invest more time in students.” – Olga Kupets, Kyiv
