Join us at Kyiv School of Economics on November 9 at 10 am for a policy seminar with Prof. Balazs Varadi, Co-founder of Budapest Institute to discuss the topic: Should the Ministries hire Econometricians to Learn whether what they have Done Works?
Prof. Varadi has extensive research and teaching experience with public policy analysis, in particular, at Central European University, where he worked in 1999-2005. He also served as Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister of Hungary on health care and education reform in 2007-2008.
At the seminar Prof. Varadi will answer the following questions:
Evaluation: a toy, a threat or a necessity?
What kind of evaluation? Quick and dirty or lengthy and expensive?
Sociologists or Economists?
In-house or by outsiders?
