Public Policy Analysis and Evaluation

Description

The aim of the course is to equip the students with the policy impact evaluation skills. Theoretical part of the course is focused on the implementation of public policy, including the challenges that might impede the implementation process, differences and interrelations of monitoring and evaluation, types of and approaches to impact evaluation.
Practical part of the course will introduce students to qualitative and quantitative methods of impact assessment. Using specific examples, the students will master the tools and instruments for impact evaluation (in particular, difference-in-difference, matching, regression discontinuity in R.
