Evidence-based policy for the capacity of local communities
Description
As part of the “Evidence-Based Policies for Territorial Communities” project, implemented by the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) as part of the Hromada Selection Project, the educational program workshop “Effective Resource Mobilization and Project Management during War” continues.
It is a practice-oriented 5-month training program, during which the team of the hromada:
prepares project applications to attract external funding
gains knowledge and skills in working with qualitative and quantitative data for decision-making, developing research strategies for generating project ideas, preparing/planning and implementing project proposals
get support from experienced mentors with the opportunity to present developed projects to potential (Ukrainian and international) partners
Currently, five hromadas are participating in the workshop:
Boyarska urban hromada (Kyiv oblast)
Horodenkivska urban hromada (Ivano-Frankivsk oblast)
Novovolynsk city hromada (Volyn oblast)
Novorozdilska urban hromada (Lviv oblast)
Novoushytska rural hromada (Khmelnytskyi oblast)
The hromadas were selected through an open competition. The selection criteria include:
hromada population of 20,000 – 100,000 residents
hromada leaders value evidence-based decision-making and planning, have project teams, or are seeking to have a full-fledged project manager/project department
proactively engages the public and businesses in consultations and joint community decision-making
