Open lecture with Maksym Obrizan, KSE Assistant Professor, at T. Shevchenko National University of Kyiv

On March 30 Maksym Obrizan, KSE Assistant Professor & Senior Economist at KEI, will hold an open lecture on “Can data mining be your next career?” at T. Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

What do Google, Amazon and other internet giants have in common? They all use machine learning to better understand actions of customers and predict their behavior. In Ukraine the implementation of machine learning in business just started and many high-paid jobs are likely to be created in banking, insurance, retail, telecom and other sectors. How can a student today become a well-paid data scientist in the future? One way is to learn R! During the seminar Maksym will discuss where to start with R programming language as well as employment and freelance opportunities for young data professionals.

Maksym Obrizan holds a postition of Assistant professor at KSE and of Senior Economist at KEI.

He received his Ph.D. on Economics at the University of Iowa in 2010 having previously received Master’s degree with honors in Economics at EERCat NaUKMA.

Maksym is the author of numerous academic publications in both national and foreign editions which are related with his scientific interests focused on Applied Health Economics and Macroeconomics.
