KSE Open Executive Lecture with Bohdan Kupych from KM Core

We are very pleased to invite you to the KSE Open Executive Lecture with Bohdan Kupych, Vice President of Business Development, KM Core. Mr. Kupych will talk on “Entrepreneurs – the Revolutionaries of our Times.”

The event will be held in English on Monday, December 10, at 15.30 at KSE (conference room, 1st floor, Yakira 13).

Abstract of the presentation: Access and growth of digital information is dramatically changing the world. Innovation and Entrepreneurship is being deployed to solve big problems. Social and economic shifts are having deep and dramatic effects. Country borders are becoming less important. Can Ukraine compete in this new economic paradigm? Can Ukraine turn its potential into economic and social value?

About the speaker: Bohdan Kupych, a Canadian, has been involved in developing technology business for more than 25 years, 20 of which have been in Ukraine, Russia CIS and CEE. While working for Digital Equipment Corp. in Canada Bohdan became involved in the development of the company’s “USSR” business strategy, prompted by the opening of the new “CIS” market with the possibility to sell technology to former republics of the USSR. Digital was the first global technology company to enter the CIS market. Moving to Ukraine early 1992, Bohdan was one of the first expats on the ground. The company completed many major infrastructure projects including bringing Internet communications to the parliament of Ukraine through a project funded by the Library of Congress.

In 1998 Bohdan joined UMC, the largest mobile operator in Ukraine as Chief Marketing Officer. In 2004, Bohdan joined Kvazar-Micro as CEO and in 2006 became the VP, Business Development for Sitronics, the largest technology company in CIS/CEE and was part of the IPO team which took Sitronics public on the London Stock Exchange, the largest tech IPO in five years, raising $450M.

Today, Bohdan is Vice President of Business Development and a partner in KM Core a Ukrainian based technology investment company. The company’s portfolio includes operating companies in IT services, datacenter, software development, outsourcing, microelectronics and nanotechnology. Additionally, the company has several venture investments in mobile content adaptation, optical laser, e-commerce, e-health and e-agriculture platforms.  Headquartered in Ukraine, the company has offices in Austin, Texas, Santa Clara, USA as well as in Germany and Russia.

Bohdan is also the Director of Founder Institute Ukraine, part of Founder Institute, the largest, global network of early stage start-up incubators. Founder Institute, founded in 2009 in Silicon Valley, has the goal of helping founders create 1000 meaningful companies, through a network of 34 cities and more than 1000 mentors world-wide. Founder Institute Ukraine has set the goal of helping Ukrainian founders start 100 enduring technology companies by 2015.

Bohdan is a founding member, past president and 10 year board member of the American Chamber  of Commerce in Ukraine. Bohdan founded the UMC Chair of Marketing at Kyiv Mohyla Business School and has been a guest lecturer. Bohdan studied Political Science at York University, obtained a graduate diploma in management and MBA from Athabasca University in Canada and has completed executive programs at HAAS Business School, University of California at Berkley and leadership programs at INSEAD in France.
