November 21, 2012

A new policy brief by KEI at KSE faculty Tom Coupé and Hanna Vakhitova on “Recent Dynamics of Returns to Education in Transition Countries” was published within FREE Policy Brief Series, launched in September 2011.

In their column Tom Coupé and Hanna Vakhitova presented the results of their previous research on how the economic boom transition countries experienced up to the 2008 financial crisis influenced the returns to education in these countries.

The Forum for Research on Eastern Europe and Emerging Economies (FREE) has started on September 5, 2011, and is a joint initiative by SITE (Stockholm), BEROC (Minsk), BICEPS (Riga), CEFIR (Moscow), CenEA (Szczecin), ISET (Tblisi) and KEI (Kiev). The aim is to provide short and informative analyses on current economic policy challenges based on academic research relevant to countries in Eastern Europe and in emerging economies more generally.
