Horton Beebe-Center is President Emeritus of Eurasia Foundation, where he served from 1993 to 2019. Eurasia Foundation’s first field officer, he rose to President in 2006 and played a key role in the establishment of several pioneering institutions, including the Economics Education and Research Consortium, which evolved into the Kyiv School of Economics. As a co-founder of KSE, Beebe-Center served on the board for several years. Beebe-Center was also directly involved in the design and launch of Eurasia Foundation’s locally chartered institutions in Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus. In 2022, Beebe-Center cofounded the Ukraine Youth Action Network, a nonprofit that enables young Ukrainians whose lives have been disrupted by war to connect with peers in the United States, build friendships, and collaborate on initiatives that benefit Ukraine. Beebe-Center earned a B.A. in Soviet Studies from Brown University and an M.A. in Russian Studies from Harvard University.
