Training «How to get to Scopus: from idea to publication» for professors from Kharkiv

KSE invites professors Kharkiv universities for a training «How to get to Scopus: from idea to publication» on March 23.

At the training, we will discuss these questions:

  • What is a modern research in the field of social sciences?
  • How to find an idea and form a topic for research?
  • Where the right data can be taken from?
  • Where the literature should be looked for? What information should be looked for in the literature? How to write good literature review?
  • Work with special bibliographic software
  • What steps should one take to publish the research in a Western magazine?
  • What is Double Blind Peer Review?

Training schedule:

9:30-10:00 – Registration.

10:00-11:30 – Section 1. How to find an idea and form a topic for research? Where the right data can be taken from?

11:30-11:45 – Coffee break

11:45-13:15 – Section 2. Preparation of the scientific article and presentation at the conference.

If you have ideas for your article or application for a grant, Volodymyr Vahitov is ready to discuss them with you at the training.

Speaker:

Vladimir Vakhitov received a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Kentucky, now he works at Kyiv School of Economics as a professor of Statistics and Econometrics, Behavioral economics, and City economics. His research focuses on the economy of regions and cities, agglomeration theory and production economics. Vladimir received many grants and scholarships, including several Kentucky University funding programs as well as grants for individual studies from the World Wide Development Network and the Consortium for Economic Education and Economic Research.

Was the member of the selection committee for Fulbright contests finalists, as well as an expert on the initial selection of applications. He has the experience of publishing research in foreign economic journals, included in international ratings and databases (Scopus, Web of Science), as well as extensive experience in presenting works at international conferences.

Who can be interested in training:

Professors (lecturers, postgraduates and researchers who do not yet have a degree, candidates of sciences, doctorates) who speak English and are interested in research in the field of social sciences in other countries as well. Participants will receive certificates.
