Research seminar: “Wage differentials and informal employment in EU transition countries”

This week KSE invites you to a research seminar "Wage differentials and informal employment in EU transition countries" by Oksana Nezhyvenko

Description

At the seminar Oksana Nezhyvenko will be analysing wages differentials for employees in the set of nine EU transition countries with respect to informal employment.

Participants will discuss European Survey on Income and Living Conditions for the years 2009-2015 and its results. Also the problem of women`s and men`s wages difference will be discussed. For male employees, 24 per cent of wage penalty for informality is explained by individual and job characteristics and 12 per cent is unexplained. For females, 28 per cent of wage penalty for informality is explained by the same factors and 18 per cent remains unexplained.

Also the speaker will present different wages decomposition models and briefly tell about each of those.
