Income Inequality and Wage Dispersion: Time Dynamics and Cross-Sectional Drivers

Weekly seminars at KSE

Description

KSE invites to the research seminar “Income Inequality and Wage Dispersion: Time Dynamics and Cross-Sectional Drivers” by Mihnea Constantinescu to be held on December 12 at 17:00.

Abstract. The ongoing debate on wealth and income inequality has received relatively little attention in CEE economies. The current study uses a unique mix of data sources (Lithuanian household portfolio level and firm-level data) to inquire on the sources of wealth inequality and its main drivers. Preliminary results indicate income dynamics are important drivers of inequality. Furthermore, unique firm-level productivity developments are the main source of income inequality.
