This course is focused on the technologies that enable the companies to stay relevant or even thrive in a turbulent business environment and their practical application. Emerging technologies are characterized by novelty, relatively fast growth, prominent impact, and uncertainty. They are the tools that enable upstarts to disrupt whole industries.
During the course, we will develop an understanding of enabling technologies, their impact on business, and applicability in different business scenarios as well as how to ensure their scalable implementation and proper architecture planning.
Modern Web, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics and Virtual Reality are some of the topics we will go through.
The course is structured as a full-time 3-day assignment, each day having its own format.
The 1st day is the seminar-discussion about the modern business environment, the way digital products are designed and developed today, technologies, software architecture, operations model and engineering culture aimed to reveal the interconnections of these aspects and the way they influence each other.
On the 2nd day, students will work in groups on the different aspects of Cloud strategy – the topic that is actual for a majority of enterprises.
The 3rd day is a collection of modules. Each module is dedicated to a particular technology and structured in 3 phases. First, the short lecture introducing the technology. Then brainstorming in small groups on the ways how technology can be used in business. Finally, presentation and collective evaluation of brainstormed ideas.
