- The total amount of damage caused to the Babyntsi and Buzova villages in the Kyiv region is $31.2 million.
These are the KSE Institute’s data within the “Russia will pay” project. The calculation of the damage to villages’ infrastructure was carried out based on data collected in the framework of the RebuildUA project, initiated by SmartFarming and Vkursi Zemli. Digitized information about Buzova’s and Babyntsi’s infrastructure is the most accurate damage estimate for today.
Damages to Buzova village as a result of the war are estimated at $29.7 million. In total, 396 buildings were destroyed and damaged in the village, the majority of which are residential buildings and outbuildings with an area of 64,000 m2. Due to the destruction of the housing stock, the village lost almost $17 million.
As a result of hostilities in Buzova, 41 industrial facilities were damaged for $8.9 million, including Hanse Trailer Ukraine LLC and Mini-Agro-Tech LLC. Another $3.9 million is the cost of damage to social infrastructure facilities, including a kindergarten, 3 cafes, and 2 shops. Russian troops hit the village’s maternity hospital and almost destroyed the local school, in which children and women were hiding in the bomb shelter inside the school at the time.
Damage to the infrastructure of Babintsi in the Kyiv region, where 238 objects were damaged, amounted to $1.5 million. The largest share of the damage was caused to Babintsi due to damage to the housing stock — $1.1 million. The damage caused to 14 objects to Babintsi’s industrial infrastructure is estimated at $400,000.
