Kick-off meeting of UaFoodTrade project

September 20, 2018

The development of a modern and efficient education system is crucial for the economic development and sustainability of a society. This is one of the reasons why Ukraine is increasingly striving for the development and international orientation of its research institutions and universities.

The UaFoodTrade pilot project stands for stronger international networking of Ukrainian agricultural economic research institutions and an increase in the quality of research and education in the field of agricultural and food economics in Ukraine. Increased high-level research and an improved transfer of research findings into practice contribute significantly to the country’s economic development.

Against this background, IAMO is organizing the official opening of the UaFoodTrade project together with the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) and with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). After the welcome address and presentation of the project by IAMO Director Prof. Dr. Thomas Glauben, a panel discussion entitled “Internationalization of Ukrainian educational and research institutions in the context of the globalization of the Ukrainian agribusiness sector: Realities and Perspectives” will take place. Representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, agricultural universities and research institutions as well as interest representatives of the agricultural producers (civil organizations in the agricultural sector) are expected to attend the event. Simultaneous translations will be provided in German and Ukrainian.
