Jason Stanley, an honorary professor at KSE, donated his compensation to the KSE Foundation and the Come Back Alive Foundation

22 July 2024

American philosopher and Yale University professor Jason Stanley has donated $30,000 to the KSE Foundation and $20,000 to the Come Back Alive Foundation. These funds, compensation for his work as an honorary professor at the Kyiv School of Economics, will be used to support Ukrainian students during the war and for the needs of the Yatahan Unmanned Aircraft Systems Training School.

Since I’m here not for my own enrichment, but to support Ukraine’s struggle against fascism and imperialism, I’m donating my entire salary to two organizations: the KSE Foundation, which supports students during wartime, and the Come Back Alive Foundation, which is creating a school for training external pilots, said Jason Stanley

Jason Stanley handed over the certificates with the contributions to KSE University Rector Tymofii Brik and Oleh Karpenko, Deputy Director of the Come Back Alive Foundation, during the professor’s lecture at KSE.

Every contribution to the development and preservation of human capital in Ukraine is a contribution to the victory and strengthening of the foundations of our country. Professor Jason Stanley makes such a precious daily contribution by passing on his knowledge to KSE University students. He has also made a significant investment by donating $30,000 to the development of education during wartime. We are proud of the trust placed in the KSE Foundation team, and sincerely thank you for his dedication to Ukraine, commented Svitlana Denysenko, director of the KSE Foundation.

I would like to personally thank you, Jason, for your work and your choice in favor of training our military. Because in today’s realities, training is perhaps the most important factor in this war. Thank you for choosing the Come Back Alive Foundation, added Oleh Karpenko.

Professor Stanley also noted that he plans to donate future compensation from the Kyiv School of Economics to charity and will continue to support Ukraine.

You can also support the “Donate to Educate” initiative and provide access to quality higher education for Ukrainian youth: thanks to benefactors, grants for studying at KSE are awarded to children of the Defenders of Ukraine, applicants who lost their homes due to the war, talented youth and others.
