In the run-up to the URC 2024, a conference “Resilient, Renewed, Prosperous: Prospects for the Ukrainian Economy” will take place in Berlin

On Monday 10 June, the conference ‘Resilience, Recovery, Prosperity: Perspectives for the Ukrainian Economy’ will take place on the eve of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024. The discussion is organised by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the London School of Economics (LSE), Clingendael, and the Kyiv School of Economics.

The event will be attended by representatives of the European Commission, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, international financial institutions, as well as the scientific and expert community, including the Kyiv School of Economics. 

The main part of the conference will include 4 panel discussions and 3 breakout sessions dedicated to the issues of Ukraine’s recovery. Participants will discuss public investment and the link between war and post-war economy, financing war and reconstruction, the role of local governments, economic and environmental sustainability, social cohesion, human capital and social partnership, and holding Russia accountable.

In addition, at the end of the main part of the conference, a public discussion ‘Restoring Ukraine in the European Context,’ will be held to discuss Ukraine’s European future. The speakers will include:

• Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development 

• Martin Schulz, Chairman of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung
