An experienced journalist in the field of economics, a former editor of the economic department of LB.ua Andriy Ianitsky was appointed as a Head of Centre for Excellence in Economic Journalism at Kyiv School of Economics.

At Centre for Excellence in Economic Journalism, he will develop a Master’s Degree Program in international business journalism, conduct researches and develop the certification programs.

Before he moved to Kyiv, Andriy Ianitskiy had worked as a journalist and editor in the Crimean office of some popular newspapers in such as Delo, IA Ukrainski Novyny and Kommersant-Ukraina. In 2007, he had begun to work in Kyiv, where he wrote for the newspaper “Gazeta24” and Kyiv Weekly. From 2009 until 2018 he was a part of the LB.ua project, where was running of editorial team the economic section of the. Also, he was a chairman of Kyiv Independent Media Trade Union that unites more than 400 journalists.

“Today we are witnessing a crisis of Ukrainian economic journalism. Qualitative analysis of processes is replaced by economic populism, instead of business news we have hidden advertising. The market lacks professional economic journalists. Researchers and professors at KSE are experienced economists, I have 12 years of experience in the business journalism. We are able to change the situation in education for journalists together”, – says Andriy Ianitsky.
