KSE Impromptu team took part in the Cup Moscow Challenge

December 28, 2016

Last month KSE Impromptu team took part in the prestigious student case championship “Cup Moscow” organized by Changellenge.

KSE Students, Yevhen Bukhinchenko, Valeriia Ketrysh, Anton Shmihel and Valentyna Kalonova, showed themselves as a very cohesive team, representing Kyiv School of Economics in the best way. And we are soooo proud of them!

Happy to share their impressions: “The task was unusual for all of us. At the first (online) stage we had to prepare a presentation of an action plan on how to increase the brand margin and market share for Air Wick. We were a dedicated team, although we lacked some experience. A week of coordinated work has produced good result: we ranked 26th among 980 teams-participants. Although there were only 15 winning places, competition was not over for us.

The second chance had been given for all the teams left behind, as the one place had been left vacant. This meant other three days of tough work for us. This time our task was to develop new channels of attracting new driver-partners for Uber in Moscow. We believed in each other, worked hard (made a research, analysed, made additional research, analysed again, prepared beautiful Power Point presentation and Excel calculations using some sleepless nights) and, surprisingly for all of us, we did it! Our solution was recognized as the best one, and we were invited to present our suggestions directly to Uber representatives in Moscow. Two more days of intensive work, lots of challenges on our way, and on Monday, 5th, we were in Moscow, presenting our work.

We were ranked 7th out of 15 at this stage, but we are not upset. Thanks to KSE covering half of the ticket fare, we could see Moscow for a few hours, feel ourselves as a real-life consultants for a few days, and remain in memory of decades of Moscow students for weeks, since we were the only team from Ukraine on this stage of the championship. We also met several top companies of Moscow during the career day, all of which asked us to apply to their open positions in Moscow and Kyiv, where possible.

Overall, we also developed our time-management skills and creative thinking, which is very important in modern labor-market. Finally, the competition allowed us make new friends and meet new people, which we are all grateful for. And we are truly inspired for new achievements!”
