Denys Nizalov is one of the 2012 Bill Maynes Fellowship Recipients

The Bill Maynes Fellowship, awarded by the Eurasia Foundation, offers a distinctive opportunity for civil society leaders from the Eurasia region to enhance their professional networks and expertise by visiting the US.

In 2012, the Bill Maynes Fellowships have been provided to two individuals: Denys Nizalov, KSE Academic Director (Kyiv, Ukraine), and Marinika Babanazarova, Director of the Savitsky Karakalpakstan Art Museum (Nukus, Uzbekistan).

Bill Maynes served as president of Eurasia Foundation from 1997 to 2007, following a distinguished career in diplomacy and journalism. After serving as a foreign service officer, Capitol Hill aide, and think-tank official, Maynes was assistant secretary of state for international organization affairs in the Carter administration. Maynes also served as a long-time editor of Foreign Policy and was known for his uncanny ability to discuss, without any notice, international affairs in any part of the world.
