Dear friends, We are pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming KSE Open Lectures within the framework of the EERC Grant Competition Workshop:

In this presentation there will be discussed an impact of various types of societal diversity: genetic, linguistic ethnic, geographical, economic, historical, on economic development and redistribution, as well as on building of political institutions and intensity of civil conflicts.  We focus on the various types of measurement of diversity and introduce a range of diversity indices that reflect a complicated structure of multi-group societies. The presentation will be based on the recent book by Victor Ginsburgh and Shlomo Weber “How Many Languages Do We Need? Economics of Linguistic Diversity”.
