Academic Director of the Master’s program in Urban Studies and Postwar Reconstruction. She was born in Kherson. She studied history at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and holds a master’s degree in history with honors. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, earning her PhD in history (2014). Her dissertation topic is entrepreneurship in Ukrainian cities in the nineteenth century.
In 2016, she and her friends founded the peer-reviewed journal City: History, Culture, Society (mics.org.ua) and have been its editor-in-chief ever since.
She has been a guest researcher at the University of Göttingen, Germany (2022-2023) and the University of Durham, UK (2023-2025).
Author of several non-fiction books on the history of Ukrainian cities and the history of Ukrainian business.
