Innovation and Science Funding
Research into innovation and science funding during the full-scale invasion is critically important for supporting Ukraine’s defense capacity and the recovery of its economy. The development of new technologies in areas such as cybersecurity, drone systems, materials science, and medical innovations enables Ukraine to respond more rapidly to wartime challenges.
The Center’s research focuses on financial models for funding scientific research and development (R&D), as well as various forms of R&D grants for scientists.

Models of funding scientific research and development
The study analyzes key funding indicators used in EU countries, the shortcomings of some indicators, strategies to overcome them, and offers recommendations for improving the research funding system in Ukraine.
The research was conducted at the request of the Directorate of Science Development of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine during January–February 2025.
