Maksym Obrizan becomes Dean of the KSE Faculty of Master’s Studies in Economics

27 September 2024

At the beginning of the academic year, Maksym Obrizan, a well-known Ukrainian economist and associate professor, became the Dean of the Faculty of Master’s Studies in Economics at KSE University.

Maksym joined the Kyiv School of Economics in 2010 and has 20 years of experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in higher education institutions in Ukraine, the USA, Georgia, and Germany. He has also been involved in a number of projects supported by the World Bank, USAID, the Economist Intelligence Unit, and the WHO.

Maksym Obrizan expressed confidence in the continuation of the positive changes taking place at the Kyiv School of Economics and will contribute to its further development. He also thanked his predecessor, Oleh Nivievsky, for his significant contribution to the faculty development during difficult challenges.

As the Dean of the Faculty of Master’s Studies in Economics, I would like to continue the more than twenty-five-year path of success that began with the EERC programme and has now grown into a full-fledged university. For my part, I will do my best to ensure that the Faculty of Economic Master’s Studies continues to be the flagship of Ukrainian economic thought, a kind of Kyiv Harvard, said Maksym Obrizan.

Maksym also noted that, despite the continuation of the brazen aggression, this year, the Kyiv School of Economics has admitted almost a record number of masters and —for the first time in its history—postgraduate students who will begin to rebuild a truly European scientific community in Ukraine.

We sincerely congratulate Maksym Obrizan on his new position and wish him success in developing the Kyiv School of Economics and education and science in Ukraine.
