KSE Marks 30 Years Since Its Establishment in 1996

In 2026, Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) marks 30 years since its establishment. The year 1996 became a milestone in shaping a new model of independent economic education in Ukraine — oriented toward international academic standards, research excellence, and the institutional development of the country.
KSE began as a master’s program in economic analysis created within the EERC consortium in partnership with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In 2006, the school became an independent institution under the name Kyiv School of Economics. Its subsequent development included the launch of new master’s and bachelor’s programs, international partnerships, and the establishment of research centers and institutional units.
Today, KSE operates as an educational, research, and analytical ecosystem that brings together:
- KSE University (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs);
- KSE Graduate Business School;
- KSE ProfTech, a center for vocational education and training;
- KSE Institute and specialized analytical centers;
- KSE Foundation, which supports KSE’s institutional development and implements nationwide humanitarian and defense initiatives.
In the 2025–2026 academic year, KSE University enrolls 1,700 students across five faculties and multiple levels of study. The university is a member of international academic alliances, including CIVICA and GHEA21, and part of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities. According to admissions results, KSE is the number one choice among state-funded students with the highest entrance scores.
In recent years, KSE has expanded its activities in STEAM education, engineering programs, and vocational training, while strengthening international integration, research capacity, and grant-based initiatives.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, KSE Foundation has mobilized significant resources to support education, defense, and humanitarian needs in Ukraine, and has contributed to infrastructure recovery and damage assessment initiatives.
KSE’s 30th anniversary is not a ceremonial milestone, but a confirmation of institutional continuity — from a master’s program in 1996 to a comprehensive educational, research, and analytical ecosystem operating at the intersection of entrepreneurship, science, and technology.
Born in 1996.
