On October 14, the Kyiv School of Economics had the honor of hosting Tom Sanderson, a leading expert on geopolitical risks and former director of the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

In his presentation titled “Global Disruptive Forces,” Mr. Sanderson provided a detailed analysis of the major threats affecting modern global politics. He addressed key issues such as global terrorism, russia’s war against Ukraine, the growing influence of China, and threats to democracy.

Tom Sanderson, founder of Tom Sanderson Consulting, has extensive experience conducting field research in various parts of the world, collaborating with governments, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders. His research covers topics ranging from transnational crime to great power conflicts. Mr. Sanderson is also the author of numerous reports for CSIS and publications in such renowned outlets as The New York Times and The Washington Post. With such a wealth of experience, he shared his insights with the participants and spoke about many fascinating aspects of his work.

The event attracted not only the KSE academic community but also experts in international relations and members of the public. KSE Rector Tymofiy Brik expressed his sincere gratitude to Tom Sanderson for his visit, emphasizing the significance of this event for the community.
