Monitoring of Ukrainian land relations was presented at a conference of the World Bank in Washington

Presentation “Monitoring of land relations in Ukraine” was held at the
conference of the World Bank on land and poverty, which took place in
Washington, March 14-18 2016. It was announced by the head of the
project “Capacity Development for Evidence-Based Land & Agricultural
Policy Making Project in Ukraine” Denys NIZALOV.

The presentation was attended by over 500 professionals from more than 120 countries. According to Denis NIZALOV, experience of Ukrainian Monitoring of land relations, which was the first to allow public publication of more than 140 indicators, that describe the situation in this area, is regarded as an example of good practice in ensuring transparency and accountability of land management. It is also mentioned by World Bank Senior Economist Klaus DEININGER at the closing plenary session of the conference.

Denis NIZALOV emphasized that monitoring of land relations is the result of interaction between the project team and a number of ministries and departments of Ukraine: Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the State Agency of Ukraine for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre; Ministry of Justice, the State Fiscal authorities; State Court Administration; State Statistics Service; State Water Resources Agency. The project is implemented by Kyiv Economics Institute at Kyiv School of Economics.
