Ukrainian Agricultural Sector and EU Integration

KSE Agrocenter

– Goal –

Ukraine’s prospective membership in the EU is a goal that motivates positive changes in public administration, governance, and economic policies. EU integration represents a window of opportunity to implement many beneficial reforms. KSE Agrocenter collaborates with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on improving competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural sector by economic analysis and evidence-based policy-making. The goal of this research strand is to analyze Ukraine’s competitive advantages in producing key commodities and providing recommendations in the light of EU integration.

– Approach –

Our approach is participatory, engaging a broad spectrum of stakeholders to ensure sustainable and competitive outcomes for Ukraine’s agricultural sector. We rely on a combination of quantitative analyses, desk research, field assessments, and stakeholder consultations to build a comprehensive view of the sector’s dynamics and potential. This inclusive methodology allows us to capture diverse perspectives and integrate them into our policy recommendations, ensuring they are robust and applicable on the ground.

– Impact –

We measure the impact of our work through enhanced policy frameworks, increased agricultural productivity, and improved market access for Ukrainian products in the EU. We actively monitor the implementation of our recommendations, providing ongoing support and adjustments.

– Stakeholder Engagement –

To foster a richer dialogue and refine our insights, we host regular workshops and roundtables that bring together farmers, policy makers, industry experts, and academicians. These events serve as a platform for sharing best practices, discussing challenges, and developing collaborative solutions.
