Ukraine's Agricultural Sector and EU Integration
The KSE Agrocenter collaborates with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food to enhance the competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural sector through economic analysis and the development of evidence-based recommendations.
Goal
Ukraine’s prospective EU membership is a goal that drives positive changes in public administration, governance, and economic policy. EU integration presents a window of opportunity for implementing numerous beneficial reforms. The KSE Agrocenter collaborates with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food to enhance the competitiveness of the Ukrainian agricultural sector through economic analysis and the development of evidence-based recommendations. The objective of this research area is to analyze Ukraine’s competitive advantages in the production of key commodities and to provide recommendations in the context of EU integration.
Approach
Our approach involves a wide range of stakeholders to ensure sustainable and competitive outcomes for Ukraine’s agricultural sector. We rely on a combination of quantitative analysis, literature reviews, field assessments, and stakeholder consultations to build a comprehensive understanding of the sector's dynamics and potential. This inclusive methodology allows us to capture diverse perspectives and integrate them into our policy recommendations, ensuring they are robust and relevant on the ground.
Influence
We measure the impact of our work through improved regulatory frameworks, increased agricultural productivity, and enhanced access for Ukrainian goods to EU markets. We actively monitor the implementation of our recommendations, providing ongoing support and adjustments.
Stakeholder engagement
To foster deeper dialogue and refine our ideas, we regularly hold seminars and roundtables that bring together farmers, policymakers, industry experts, and academics. These events serve as a platform for sharing best practices, discussing challenges, and developing collaborative solutions.
