On September 23, KSE Institute participated in the Ukraine Britain Business Council conference “Future Ukraine: Powerhouse of Europe” in London. The event brought together business representatives, investors, governments, financial institutions, and the technology and education sectors of Ukraine and the UK to discuss Ukraine’s recovery, modernization, and long-term economic development. KSE Institute was represented by Senior Economic Advisor Alina Slyusarchuk. She delivered a presentation on the state and prospects of the Ukrainian economy and joined a discussion on the role of education and human capital in Ukraine’s future recovery. In Q2, real GDP grew by 0.6% year-on-year following a 0.6% contraction in Q1. In July, the production of machinery and equipment rose by 62.1% year-on-year, while traditional export sectors remain under pressure due to security and logistical constraints. As of September, over €20 billion in programming is available for Ukraine through international financial organizations and development finance institutions. To scale investment, risk mitigation remains key—through guarantees, insurance, financing via Ukrainian banks, and the blending of various instruments.   A separate topic of discussion was human capital and the role of education in recovery. The number of KSE students grew from 362 in 2021 to 1,687 in 2025, with 16 new academic programs launched during this period.   Conference participants also discussed how to attract private capital during the war, prepare businesses for larger-scale investments, and develop the skills necessary for recovery.
