Two Ukrainian startups will go for acceleration in Finland

On 14th of March, 2015  Kyiv visited one
of the largest startup acceleration programs in Northern
Europe – Startup Sauna. The event was organized with the support
of Kyiv School of Economics, STARTUP.UA and Scythia
accelerator.  At the event Ukrainian
startups had the opportunity to pitch their projects and get feedback from the
Finnish technology investors and local investment market opinion leaders.

The purpose of the event was to select the best Ukrainian startups to
participate in the program of acceleration in Finland this summer.

Originally 24 startups applied from which 15 has been selected to participate
in the event,  including: Mircast, Cybbet,
Avox, Handy Smart TV, Intubus, Doctoriya, Virtual Style Effect, Green Wheels,
EL-delivery, CourseYard, Dev Battles, Tap4Parking, Funtick, Antresol,
HomeMedHelp.

During the event entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas, after which the
members of Startup Sauna selected five semifinalists represented by Mircast,
Cybbet, Avox, Virtual Style Effect, Handy Smart TV.

After one-on-one discussions with the semi-finalists  Startup Sauna nominated two best startups from
the Kyiv batch – Cybbet and Avox.

Winners are invited to Finland
to participate in the program of acceleration and further communication with
investors.

Certainly, Startup Sauna was a useful and interesting experience for the
Ukrainian startups.

Startup Sauna visit to Ukraine
has been first joint event in the context of cooperation between Kyiv School of
Economics and Scythia Accelerator. The next visit of Startup Sauna to Ukraine is
scheduled this fall.
