Conference “DCFTAs and Beyond — How can the EU contribute to development and welfare in the Eastern Partnership countries”
Description
The Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) at the Stockholm School of Economics and the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), with support from the Governments of Sweden and Ukraine, are organizing the conference “DCFTAs and Beyond — How can the EU contribute to development and welfare in the Eastern Partnership countries” that will be held on June 4-5, 2014 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The purpose of the conference is to discuss what the EU has to offer the Eastern Partnership countries in a broad sense and the mutual benefits the partnership could bring to all parties.
The list of speakers already includes:
Carl Bildt, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sweden;
Pavlo Sheremeta, Minister for Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine;
Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director of The Earth Institute;
Erik Berglöf, Chief Economist and Special Adviser to the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Speakers will come from academia, the business community, and the policy sphere include representatives from EU and Eastern Partnership countries.
The language of the conference will be English with simultaneous translation into Ukrainian and Russian.
