Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Education and Science has awarded state scholarships based on the results of the ranking in Ukraine\u2019s National System of Researchers. Four KSE researchers are among the recipients, receiving recognition in four different fields:<\/p>\n

Dariia Mykhailyshyna<\/strong>: Human Capital Development, Social Sciences and Journalism (Ranking of Young Scientists)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
\n
Serhii Kozerenko<\/strong>: Mathematics and Statistics (Ranking of Young Scientists)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
\n
Ivan Ostroumov<\/strong>: Information Technology and Electronics<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
\n
Ihor Serdiuk<\/strong>: Humanities and Arts<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
The ranking was based on verified research results, including publications and the training of young researchers. For Kyiv School of Economics, the researchers say, this is a very good sign: KSE\u2019s research is visible at the national level, and not in just one area but across several, including mathematics, engineering, and the social sciences and humanities.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

For me, this scholarship means additional resources that I can invest in my own research, for example in data collection or conducting surveys. For KSE, I think it is one more example of the fact that there is an active team of young researchers<\/strong> here.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I work in graph theory, the mathematics of networks, and I head the Graph Theory and Network Analysis Laboratory at KSE. I am very pleased to receive a scholarship in the Young Scientists ranking in the field of \u201cMathematics and Statistics\u201d. I am glad to be among the recipients together with colleagues from different fields: it is a good sign that Ukrainian science is alive and competitive even in the most difficult times<\/strong>. I thank KSE for the environment in which it is possible to do fundamental research.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

For me, this recognition is an important professional achievement and, at the same time, confirmation of the relevance of research aimed at developing modern information technologies, aviation systems, navigation and engineering solutions. The opportunity to combine scientific research with training a new generation of engineers capable of creating the technologies of the future is especially meaningful<\/strong>. I am grateful to Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Education and Science for the high assessment of my work and for supporting scientific activity. I am convinced that investment in science, technology and engineering education is one of the key prerequisites for Ukraine\u2019s technological independence, competitiveness and recovery.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Our researchers\u2019 receipt of two-year scholarships based on the rankings of the National System of Researchers (NSR) was the result of a competitive selection among more than 13,000 Ukrainian researchers from all fields and specialisations. This is important for KSE both as a positive result of engagement with the state and as recognition of its research results and expertise<\/strong>. The competition will be repeated, and I hope to see more of my colleagues among the recipients. All the more so because being in the NSR is a necessary step towards obtaining state funding for research projects from the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Research Foundation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
