Two new members were appointed to the Board of Directors of Kyiv School of Economics during the annual Board of Directors meeting – Makar Paseniuk, founder of the ICU Group, and Oleksandr Kravchenko, partner at McKinsey & Company.<\/p>\n

Nataliia Shapoval<\/b>, Chair of the Management Team, Kyiv School of Economics: \u201cWe are proud to have Makar Paseniuk and Oleksandr Kravchenko joining the Board of Directors, who precisely know the value of education and take real action to help talented young people build successful international careers.<\/p>\n

KSE (formerly EERC) was created in 1996 to provide a foundation for a market economy in post-Soviet countries, including Ukraine. Makar Paseniuk is one of the strongest financial analysts in our country. In the late 1990s, he was one of the first in Ukraine to start building international investment banking and manage deals that no one has ever done before, and only a small group of people read about it in theory – the first government bond issue, the first large-scale Eurobonds, and the first international IPO from Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Since 2016, ICU has become a strategic partner of Kyiv School of Economics, and its founders, Makar Paseniuk and Kostyantyn Stetsenko, have become KSE\u2019s patrons. Together we held several Ukrainian Financial Forums – ICU’s flagship events for the development of the Ukrainian capital market, launched Ukraine Economy Week – an annual weekly marathon of events on globally important economic issues. With ICU and several other partners, we have established the Center for Excellence in Economic Journalism so that journalists can enhance their knowledge and cover the economic events of Ukraine in a profound and objective way. \u201d<\/p>\n

Makar Paseniuk<\/b>, ICU Founder, Member of the KSE Board of Directors: \u201cI have been working in the financial sector for 20 years and know in my own experience what piece of knowledge and skills the Ukrainian specialists are lacking. Filling these gaps and enhancing the competitiveness of our graduates in international markets are my goals as a member of the KSE Board of Directors. With our help, students should maintain the achieved level and further develop their competencies in order to be demanded economists, finance specialists, managers both in their own country and abroad, and not inferior to their colleagues who have graduated from foreign universities \u201d, – says Makar Paseniuk.<\/p>\n

Nataliia Shapoval<\/b>, Chair of Management Team, Kyiv School of Economics: \u00abOleksandr Kravchenko is a partner at McKinsey & Company’s Kyiv office. While working with Ukrainian and international companies, Oleksandr is well aware of the need to develop management competencies and the corresponding strategic role of education in the modern world.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr is also a role model for many KSE students and graduates. About 45% of KSE students would like to build a career in consulting – to solve complex analytical tasks and help the business become more successful and profitable. And Oleksandr is helping students in this task – five students at KSE are receiving scholarships from him. \u201d<\/p>\n

Makar Paseniuk<\/b> – CFA, Bachelor of Business Administration from International Christian University (Ukraine \/ Austria), Master’s degree from Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, majoring in International Business Management; holds a Stanford Graduate School of Business diploma in Executive Leadership Development. He started his professional career at the Caspian Securities office in Kyiv. He then spent almost 10 years in ING’s London and Kyiv corporate finance offices and was the managing director of ING Bank Ukraine. In 2006, jointly with Kostyantyn Stetsenko and Valeria Gontareva, he founded the ICU.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2006 by senior investment professionals from ING, ICU is Ukraine’s leading asset manager with over $500m in assets under management. Makar Paseniuk’s team has become one of the most productive in Ukraine – the volume of successful M&A deals under his management is over $ 1 billion, corporate debt restructuring – about $ 3 billion, restructuring of Ukraine’s foreign debt – worth $ 2.7 billion.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr Kravchenko<\/b> studied at the London School of Economics, Vienna University of Economics, Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman, Constantine University of Germany. He has been working at McKinsey & Company for the past seven years. He started his career at Wienerberger AG, a global provider of building materials and infrastructure components. He then gained experience at Credit Suisse in London and Horizon Capital in Kyiv. He has worked in the energy and basic materials industries for over 15 years.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kravchenko<\/b> is a founder of the Oleksandr Kravchenko Named Scholarship at the Kyiv School of Economics. With his support, two talented students were able to study at the Economic Analysis program in the 2018\/2019 academic year and three talented students are studying in the 2019\/2020 academic year.<\/p>\n

The Board of Directors of the Kyiv School of Economics is the main governing body of the School. During the annual meetings of the members of the Board of Directors the policies are being approved, the areas of activity of the School are being reviewed and priorities for development for the coming years are being determined.<\/p>\n
