\nKyiv School of Economics<\/strong> had an honor to host Erik Berglof, EBRD Chief Economist, with informal presentation of the EBRD Transition Report<\/strong> for KSE students on April 1, 2014.<\/p>\n

Main conclusions<\/strong> of the presentation:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Time is on the side of democracy and economic reform<\/li>\n
  2. The process can be slow, and some factors – like natural resource abundance – can hold it back<\/li>\n
  3. In the meantime countries can:\n
      \n
    • Foster international – trade and financial – integration<\/li>\n
    • Strengthen regional competition and local accountability<\/li>\n
    • Invest in human capital and institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
